HOW I LOST MY MARRIAGE AND RECOVER IT BACK

, Retrieved My Husband from the Hands of Strange Women in Lagos

My name is Bukola Adams. I hail from Ekiti State, but I have been married to a Lagosian for the past 26 years. For the most part, our marriage was smooth and seemingly perfect. However, little did I know that beneath the surface, my husband was silently battling a storm that I was mostly unaware of. It was a shocking revelation that transformed not just our marriage but my understanding of the roles we play as women in our homes.

 The Unseen Struggle

For over 20 years, I assumed everything was fine in our marriage. We had our ups and downs, just like any couple, but I never sensed that my husband was fading away emotionally. It was troubling to discover later that his silence had been a cry for help. I had been so caught up in my routines—work, children, and daily responsibilities—that I overlooked the importance of emotional connection and understanding in our marriage.

Common Mistakes Women Make in Marriage

As I reflect on my journey, I can pinpoint several mistakes I made that contributed to my husband feeling neglected:

1. **Overlooking Communication:** I often prioritized small daily tasks over heart-to-heart conversations.
2. **Taking Him for Granted:** I assumed that our years together meant I didn’t need to continuously nurture our relationship.
3. **Neglecting His Needs:** I focused on household duties and children, not realizing the emotional needs of my husband were unmet.
4. **Ignoring Red Flags:** There were signs of distress in his demeanor that I dismissed, thinking they were just temporary moods.
5. **Failure to Pray Together:** We rarely prayed as a couple, which affected our spiritual unity and the intimate bond we needed.

The Revelation

The shocking moment came one day when I stumbled upon some suspicious messages on his phone. My heart shattered. It was clear he was involved with other women—strange women who had captivated my husband’s attention and affection. I felt betrayed and overwhelmed. It was a wake-up call that this was not merely a marital issue; it was a spiritual battle.

That evening, I broke down in tears and cried out to God. I realized I couldn't fight this battle alone. I needed divine intervention.

Engaging in Prayer

Determined to retrieve my husband from the clutches of these strange women, I sought guidance through prayer. I dedicated myself to intense intercessory prayer, utilizing the steps I had learned over the years. The following became my battle plan:

1. **Fasting and Praying:** I dedicated days to fasting, seeking God in a secure place free from distractions. My focus was resolute—restore my marriage.
2. **Praise and Worship:** Every session began with heartfelt praise, honoring God for all the blessings in our marriage.
3. **Gratitude:** I took time to thank God for the beautiful moments we had shared, reaffirming my spiritual commitment.
4. **Praying in Faith:** I beseeched God to remove every influence of the strange women, declaring my authority over my marital home as per Scriptures like Matthew 18:18.
5. **Praying for Restoration:** I claimed our marital home back with scriptures such as Isaiah 54:17, declaring that no weapon formed against us would prosper.

God’s Intervention

As I persisted in prayer, wonderful changes began to happen. My husband seemed to transform. One evening, as we sat down for dinner, he opened up about his struggles. He admitted how he had felt isolated and lost over the years. He confessed his wrongdoings, and instead of anger, I felt compassion.

It was evident that my prayers were being answered. God began to work on his heart, breaking the chains of those strange influences. He sought counseling, returned to church, and we even began praying together, igniting a spiritual bond we had long neglected.

 A New Beginning

Today, I can confidently say that our marriage has been revitalized. God has restored my husband, and our relationship is stronger than ever. I learned that sometimes as wives, we unknowingly contribute to the breakdown of our homes through neglect and lack of awareness.

Ephesians 5:33 says, *“Each one of you must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”* This verse became a cornerstone of our renewed relationship.

Conclusion

Through this experience, I’ve learned the value of communication, emotional awareness, and spiritual unity. My story is a testament that with God’s grace and our commitment as wives, we can retrieve our loved ones from any strange influences. Let every woman be encouraged: we hold the key to our homes, and with prayer, dedication, and love, we can keep our marriages strong. God is indeed able to redeem and restore.

WHY OUR YOUTH ARE NOT IN CHURCH

Why Our Youth Are Not in Church on Sunday In recent years, many churches have witnessed a troubling trend: a significant decline in youth attendance on Sundays. This phenomenon raises important questions about how the church can reclaim its relevance in the lives of young people. In this blog, we will explore the reasons behind this disengagement, what youth are searching for outside the church, and practical suggestions for creating an inviting atmosphere that meets their needs. Understanding the Decline 1. Cultural Shifts The landscape of modern society has changed dramatically over the past few decades. With the rise of technology, social media, and secular ideologies, younger generations are often more influenced by external narratives than by traditional religious values. Statistics show that a growing number of young adults identify as "nondenominational" or even "spiritual but not religious" (Pew Research Center). This shift reflects a broader tre...
